Just Beautiful: Celine @ 18 Months
My baby Celine at 18 months:
1. Since my little princess started to walk, she is constantly moving. She began becoming very active that she doesn’t stop going until she breaks down in tears for a nap, bottle or food. I realize that it may be a little challenging now (and a little more draining taking care of her), but at some point, I am glad that my child is starting to explore the world and make friends easily with other kids.
2. My little princess is losing her chubby image, and is gradually forming into a young pretty girl.
3. She loves camera. She was all smiles and the cutest serious expressions!! She’s always game to pose and she allowed costumes to be arranged on her and was on cue when the camera pointed her direction. I don’t know what I liked best…her expressive eyes, her chubby cheeks or her great smile.
4. She has more words in her vocabulary. Everyday, we noticed that she’s saying new words everyday. (celine, susi, gatas, duyan, mommy, daddy, mhine, tudtud, papa, basa, taas, baba, teeth, babab (spongebob), ant, bitis, babay, chad-chad, carl, susan, allona, juice, shoes, one-two-three, pokpokpok, hila, didi, patay, charder (charger), baby, ahas,hi, moon, lalay, mamam (water), wow, fish, hello, pampers, opo, babu, kokak, teeth, tekt (sexy), nana (wala na), kiss and ate!

Caring My Toddler's Teeth
Who does not want her baby to have that beautiful smile? Of course, all of us moms want our baby to have those beautiful teeth. Since I was not able to take care of my teeth when I was young (the reason why I don’t have healthy teeth), I want to train my baby to take good care of her teeth at her early age. I want to start with her milk teeth. Although these milk teeth will be replaced by her permanent teeth, it is good to take good care of them since the position or alignment of her milk teeth will determine the placement of her permanent teeth.
I started cleaning her gums from the time she was born with cotton swabs (I don’t use cotton balls since I noticed that the cotton fiber sticks to her tongue). Her first tooth sprouted at fifth month- that’s the time I started cleaning her delicate new teeth and tender gums using a silicone finger toothbrush with Sans Fluo toothpaste (toothpaste with xylitol for babies without fluoride which is safe to swallow). Whenever a new tooth is sprouting, I am applying Xylogel (natural teething oral gel) to soothe her swollen gums.
When she turned one, I switched to fine toothbrush using also the Sans Fluo toothpaste. I noticed that she has perfectly aligned teeth! And I want to maintain those until she grows up. There are times when she does not want her teeth to be brush, so I do the brushing of her teeth with fun (I sing the toothbrush song and sometimes I brush my teeth in front of my baby for her to imitate). Every 3 months I replace her toothbrush and I make sure that it has the picture of her favorite cartoon character for her to enjoy brushing her teeth.
Teaching our children good oral hygiene is so much fun. Healthy teeth are needed for efficient biting and chewing vital in the ingestion of food nutrients. It does not only help them to develop consciousness for their body, it also helps them have confidence and most of all a complete teeth help them with their language development.

| baby Celine at birth (3.3 kgs, normal delivery) |
One of the hardest journeys yet the most fulfilling in my life is my pregnancy to my first born baby Celine. From the time I showed those two purple lines to my hubby up to the time I gave birth, my hubby was very supportive, thoughtful, and patient of my mood swings. Believe it or not, Celine was the product of our first time together- that’s why I know exactly the day she was conceived.
I considered the first trimester the most challenging one since I am still adjusting with the changes undergoing inside my body. I have been feeling physically exhausted and I even had a two-week bed rest because of mild cramps and spotting. I had taken prenatal vitamins, drank milk with folic acid and pampered myself with nutritious foods, vegetables and fruits.
I am thankful that for the second and third trimester, I did not encounter any complications in my pregnancy.
On November 7, 2009, early morning, I dreamt that I already given birth to a baby girl. I told my hubby when I woke up to prepare the nursery bag since I have a strong feeling that our baby is coming. At twelve in the afternoon, I felt like my womb is contracting every 5 minutes. My OB-Gyne advised me to expect the baby as early as November 9, 2009 as my cervix is already soft. .Inspite of the labor pains, we were able to go to SM Great Image for a pictorial with my hubby. My husband brought me to the hospital at 4:45pm when the pain became more intense. I was dilated at 2cm when we arrived at the hospital. The OB was surprised when she found out that the baby was coming since I was already dilated at 8cm at 6pm. With only one push, Celine finally came out at 6:43pm. No words can explain how happy I am the first time I saw my baby... I took her small hands and held her tight.. very happy of the wonderful gift God has given me.. and a little bit nervous thinking I am already a mother to a very cute baby girl.

Mommy Moments: BLack and White

| celine @ 1st month with her Daddy |
I want my daughter to grow with a strong bond with her Daddy..I want her to grow with many meaningful moments with her father- to learn many things from him.
It is very important for my daughter to have this closeness with her Dad, for if she knows how to get along with her Dad, there is a big probability that she will know how to get along with her future husband.
Daughters learn about their relationship with opposite sex by watching their Mom and Dad.The value children received from their parents will mold their self-respect since children regards themselves as they think others regard them, and their father is an important person in their life.
As other says, daughter's female relationship is shaped by their early relationship with the first man who loved them- their Dad..
